I wasn't really sure what Kansas day was, so I googled it:
Kansas Day commemorates the admission of the state as the 34th in the Union on January 29, 1861. Schools have been marking the anniversary since 1877 by learning more about their state's history.
They celebrated it at Brody's school, I tried getting a couple pictures of them before we went out the door. They were to wear either Cowboy or Jayhawk attire :) Brody went with both!
This blog will be an attempt to keep everyone informed on our life down here in Kansas. I'm going to try my best to post new pictures often. I know that you all want to see how much Brody and Sophie are changing!

Kiddos
Brody likes to wash dishes for us. Stephen was home with the kids and forgot to put the step stool away, he found Sophie doing this. She was NOT happy when he took it away!
Brody holding the bunny all by himself at the pet store.
Enjoying the awesome Kansas weather. Today it was 72!
Sophie also loved the bunny - she would have gladly tried to hold it herself but she settled for Dad helping.

Some things haven't changed
Brody at 17 months old and Brody today. Still lots of snot.
Brody this week and Brody at 7 months old. Still having breathing issues.
Hope this goes away someday! But he is still cute :)
It's a New Year!
Here are a few pictures of them lately:
Enjoying some time at gymnastics.
Helping me make coffee at church
Being goofy - wearing daddys shirt
Feeding her babies :)
Getting so big!!
Christmas in Marshall
We had such a great time celebrating in Marshall. It was really fun to get everyone together. Both kids loved having the twins around this year - and I'm sure next year will be even more exciting with them being a little older. Here are some pictures from our time there.
I need to get some pictures from our Worthington visit. I am terrible at remembering to take pictures and rely on other people :/ We had a great visit there as well! We were able to get to both grandparents and celebrate with lots of people. Got a little caroling in too! :)

Gingerbread Houses
Brody loves opening his envelope every morning for our advent calendar. Today's note said we get to decorate gingerbread houses. At first Brody wasn't too excited, so I went on Google and showed him some images. Most of them were a little beyond our abilities but it made him a little more excited. He had to wait all day because it was so nice outside but we finally got to them at about 6 tonight. Brody was still working on his an hour later - he was so focused. It was so cute. He loved it! Sophie on the other hand had mixed feelings - she didn't quite understand that you weren't supposed to eat every piece of candy, so she had some tears. She'll probably enjoy it more next year.

Visit with Santa
We went to see Santa at the Bass Pro Shop on Saturday. It was great, they had tons of activities for kids. Everyone had a good time, except for Sophie when it came time to see Santa. I went to set her down on Santa's lap and she sent out a shriek louder than I have ever heard before! Everyone in the entire store heard it! There was absolutely no chance of me leaving her on his lap because she was holding on to me SO tight!
Brody really wanted to stand next to Santa, but we convinced him to sit on his lap
She loved this!
Little unsure at first - still upset from the Santa thing
Brody giving Santa his list: Book (of Santa's choice he later told us), Jayhawk Blanket, Kitchen
