Golfing in Marshall

It took a lot of convincing for Brody to leave Grandma Deb and come to the golf course with Dan, Stephen and I, but once he was there he loved it! The guys let him hit is own ball on the green and Brody could hardly wait until the next hole, we even had to spend some time on the practice green before heading home.  He somehow managed to make 2 putts from about 20 feet away! He drove the cart some and loved looking for Steve and Dan's golf balls - which we did a lot :) (hint hint, they weren't always in the fairway) I think this will be something we do again!

Boys 1st Camping Trip

Stephen took Brody camping on Friday night for the first time! Brody was SO excited to go, poor kid had to wait all day for Stephen to get off work.  He kept asking all day if it was time to go yet.  Stephen had told him that he would come home after Brody's nap, so at about 8:30a Brody was like "should I just go take a nap now mom?" haha.  Doesn't quite work that way but it was a good thought! Stephen's co-worker ended up coming out with his two boys who are 5 and 8 and then there was a neighbor camper who had 2 boys 4 and 6 so the kids had tons of fun.  They cooked hot dogs, roasted marshmallows, made scrambled eggs, and had lots of other snacks.  The kids played all night long, looking for bugs and playing with flashlights in the tent.  One of the older boys told Brody there were bears in the woods which scared him a little bit but Dad insured him they were only in the forest not in Kansas.  Brody stayed up until 11:15p and woke up at 6:30am....I had quite the crabby boys when they came home on Saturday morning.  Brody was so upset that they had to come home he wouldn't get out of the car, but he finally had to because he had to pee so bad :)  I'm SO glad this was a successful trip because Sophie and I definitely didn't mind a little alone time.

Couldn't leave home with out a few race cars!

Roasting marshmallows for him and his Dad!

Lookin pretty comfy! I think he might like this whole camping thing :)

Looking for bugs

Brody still looking for bugs.  He told me he was trying to find Roly Polys - "but you can't eat them because they will make you sick"

Random trip to MN

Sophie doesn't know what is going on! :)

Brody thought he was SO cool because he could slide sideways.  He was just copying Claire.

I guess Wilson isn't afraid to hold a fish!

Brody caught a big one! He needed Papa's help to get it in! This one scared the kids a bit - it was a little too big.

I was lucky enough to go to Lilly's school and have her read to me.  She did a report on skunks, it was great!

This is what happens when Brody spends the days with Papa!

We made a spontaneous trip to MN and it was great! We accomplished a ton in the time we were there! We got to see Ryan and Jamie, my aunt Vickie, uncle David, uncle Randy and cousins Joel and Melissa, hang out at grandmas, go to Lilly's school, go to Lilly and Claires dance recital, have Mothers Day lunch with mom and GG and hang out with family.  Seriously, how great is that! The boys and kids got quite a bit of fishing in too! It's nice that we live within a drive-able distance so when I get bored and antsy we can head up for a visit.  I literally planed the trip Thursday at noon and was on the road at 2:00p - somehow Stephen managed to arrange going to the shooting range Thursday night followed by drinks, Friday - drinks for a going away party, Sat - more shooting then xbox, Sunday - xbox and fishing, Monday - catfish fry.  HAHA so I think he enjoyed the time too :)

Sophie Sleeping

Steve checked on Sophie before we went to bed last night and this is how he found her.  Looks a little uncomfortable... (ps. he did move her)

Mom's away - Dad in charge

Steve was home alone with the kids while I was in the cities.  He kept me updated with text messages and the occasional picture.  Here are a few of my favorites!
What is going on here? I guess it was hot out but still??? How about shorts and a tank top? I will add that Drew's mom was also out of town!

So I guess Stephen doesn't think Sophie has enough athletic gear.....so he raided Brody's old clothes.  WHAT!!! My little sweetie pie looks like a BOY! All he has to do is tell me to go shopping and she will have lots more athletic gear! This picture about threw me over the edge - especially since they were outside in public view!

At least I know she was being fed - although it kind of seemed like she was just thrown a lot of cheerios. He kept saying how she was eating them by the handfuls....

Cute picture! She is getting a bath! But...

I guess Steve turned his back for a second and she pooped in the tub.  So he threw the dirty toys in my side of the sink with soap.....I guess at least he didn't leave them in the tub.

Steve's emergency night bottle in case she wakes up.  But of course she didn't because she only saves that for mom - every.single.night.

Um....at least she has a bow in her hair....

I'm sure the kids had lots of fun and I guess none of this is too bad :)  I won't be complaining because I hope to do this again....soon :)

Lindsay's Batchelorette Party

I went to the cities this weekend to celebrate my great friend Lindsay.  We had an absolute blast! I never get away from the kids so it felt like a vacation.  It was so much fun getting to catch up with old friends and to have actual conversations without getting interrupted - amazing.  I will admit I did miss the kiddos quite a bit.  I know they were in good hands :) - I will post more about that in a bit.  Here are some pictures that capture the fabulous time that we had!

9 Months Old

Sophie is 9 months and finally feeling better! These last couple weeks were rough on her.  Started out with a left ear infection, went to a double and then got hives from the medication.  Poor girl.  She is just starting to attempt to crawl - she doesn't have all the motions figured out yet but she is able to get to what she wants.  She kind of pulls herself, rolls, and maneuvers her way around.  I'm sure it won't be long now.  She also says mama - which is probably the cutest thing ever.  And I'm super excited she said it before dada :)  Stephen is convinced that her other babbling somehow means dada.  She still doesn't sleep though the night, I have no idea why not!! I think she just loves her alone time with me :)  Our monthly photo sessions are getting way harder! She just lunges towards the camera, grabs the chalk board, pulls her bow out, and does not want to smile and look at the camera at the same time! Here are a few of the pics.
